“Was booked in for 10:30am. On arrival, was told that due to staff illness, changing two tyres would take two hours, rather than the one. Was given the choice of hanging around for 2 hours or returning at 3pm for a normal service. On returning at 3pm, the work still took them 1 hour and 45 minutes. I even had to hurry things along as I was concerned that I would be late picking up my daughter from school. There was no urgency at this place.”

“I bought in a Diahatsu Extol van but booked in a week before for brakes, tyres and a service and to sort drive belt which was squeaking. Ive used protyre before and been happy with service. But this time I arrived at end of day to be told unable to get a new drive belt, brakes not done for same reason and tyres not done. Also advised if I drove vehicle I would be liable to court/ fine as one tyre was illegal ( and not sorted) !!. the oil change and filters done but nothing else. Told i may have to source Diahatsu parts myself. Leaves question why offer to service a week earlier and leave getting parts till ady of service>?. Nice stafff , no issues with customer face to face service but felt let down on this occasion. Went else where to get work finished. prior to this only ever had good service from our local centre so a shame .”

“Had an appointment to have my tyres changed at 10:30am and was told it would take roughly an hour, so myself and my partner went off to do some shopping and returned around 11.40 to find my car still sat in the same place as it was when I left the premises, untouched.
When we asked what was going on the gentlemen on reception wasn't sure and went to ask the head of department. I was told the car that was booked in before mine 'had more to do on it than it was booked in for' – no apology, was just told that my car would be in next. A courtesy call to say my appointment was going to take longer than expected due to a previous vehicles problems would have been appreciated but no such call was made. We then proceeded to wait a further 50 minutes for my tyres to be changed and left around 12:30pm.

All I can say is it's a good job I didn't have any further appointments that day as I would have missed them.”

“My VolvoXC70 went in for MOT ( please note every year I have a short service ,prior to MOT. )This time I thought I would go for Gold. On collecting my car I asked , have you reset the computer. Allows messages for service etc. I only do on average 4,000 miles per year, and its been a while. We don't do that . We don't have the equipment. I travelled 24 miles home . Went to start the car to go out . Engine turned over, no start. Checked to see if was cam belt . Message came up. In need off Major service???. Remember on a previous Volvo told to disconnect battery 3-4 minutes ,reconnect. Message went . I can now start engine ,hope its OK!. It was annoying ,not been told about resetting the computer. Advices reset in the manual. Only Garage to do reset is the Volvo Garage. after a VOLVO service.”

“I was pleased with the initial consultation and the initial booking stage. The MOT and service ran on a little longer than I expected as the MOT was booked for 1030. However that was not an issue and I assume assume the work was completed to a high standard. I received a call with recommendations for future work though there was a slight delay with the tyres.
The price was as stated.
One major was concern was waking up to a completely flat rear tyre a day later when the only drive had been the 2 mile return to my house. However all seems fine now!”

“I was not given a call when my MOT was completed. I had to contact them. I had 3 tyres fitted and they were not fully tracked. The car was veering to the right when I took it away from the premises. Phoned them to see if I could bring it in on Saturday, told me at 10.30am, sorry we will be closing shortly. Thought it was 1pm that they closed?

I have always gone every year to Protyres, and unfortunately just lacks a bit of customer care.

Also my daughter had her car serviced about a month ago and they did not pickup on the MOT a back brake light bulb was out.

MOT also recently…..all good except once again the car external lights switch was not returned to the 'automatic' setting. I noticed when the car was parked at home that the side lights were still on! On a previous occasion I got caught out in the dark as the switch was not returned to 'automatic'.”
