Vehicle Warranty Products Code now supports over 3 million motorists

Motorway Direct subscribes to Motor Codes

Motorway Direct has subscribed to Motor Codes, providing further peace of mind to warranty customers and demonstrating a commitment to high standards of customer service. Under the Vehicle Warranty Products Code, Motorway Direct commits to standards that exceed those set out by law and joins other UK providers in subscribing to the self-regulatory Code of Practice.

“Motor Codes represents the vast majority of this industry’s major players and is working with vehicle warranty product providers to bring motorists the reassurance and peace of mind they need,” said Chris Mason, Motor Codes Managing Director. “With Motorway Direct subscribing, there’s more choice than ever for customers looking for a warranty product they can rely on.”

Motor Codes regulates the provision of new car warranties under its New Car and Vehicle Warranty Products Codes and provides support to more than three million motorists that take out products such as extended warranties, GAP insurance, and breakdown cover.

“Our subscription to Motor Codes helps us to demonstrate our customer focused values of trust, reassurance and quality,” said Paul Hanna, Commercial Manager at Motorway Direct. “By committing to the Vehicle Warranty Products Code, Motorway Direct is proud to demonstrate to its customers that it is a responsible provider.”

The Vehicle Warranty Products Code has completed Stage One of the Office of Fair Trading Consumer Codes Approval Scheme and commits subscribers to increasing consumer protection and delivering higher standards of service. The Code improves the marketplace through self-regulation of non-insured warranty products, including pre-sale information, cancellation rights and protected claims funds. It insists that subscribing companies offer:

  • Peace of mind cover.
  • Products written in clear English.
  • No high pressure selling.
  • Written summaries of key contract terms.
  • A simple, straightforward claims procedure.

Motorists can find out if their product is covered by Motor Codes, by asking their provider and can check the list of subscribing parent companies at http://www.motorcodes.co.uk/.
