Driving home for Christmas? Find a government-backed garage wherever you are

New mobile-optimised garage finder

As we head into one of the busiest holiday seasons on the road, with people travelling to visit family and friends over the festive period, garage industry standards body, Motor Codes, removes at least one of the stresses and strains of the Christ-mass migration.

A mobile-optimised version of its website has been developed that takes you straight to a garage finder, containing details of all 7,000 of its subscribing garages. So, should that little car quirk that you put up with on the daily grind become something altogether more terminal, just as you arrive at grandma’s to put your feet up for the week, it’ll no longer seem a lottery when escaping the three-day old turkey and popping the car in to the local garage.

Visitors to www.motorcodes.co.uk, using their mobile, can search for a Motor Codes affiliated garage by town or postcode or, for those that have done the rounds to such an extent that they can’t remember where the next mince pie is coming from, there’s a one-touch GPS-based search facility.

Chris Mason, managingdirector at Motor Codes, hopes that the new mobile site will make life easier for people out and about this Christmas:

“When we’re at home, we have the security of the local main dealer or an independent garage that we’ve grown to trust. Away from home, on holiday, you’ll be relying on a recommendation. If something needs fixing while you’re on your travels, you can be assured that all Motor Codes garages comply with customer service guidelines set out by the OFT, they’re all inspected by the RAC and customers are invited to leave feedback online – which you can read via the mobile garage finder.”

“By using the Motor Codes mobile garage finder, you remove the risk of making a costly mistake if something does need fixing on your car while you’re away from home and away from the security of your usual garage.”

The garage finder can be found at wwww.motorcodes.co.uk. Visitors to the full version of the website are invited to complete the Motor Codes survey when they’ve had work done on their car, to leave an online customer satisfaction history for all to see.
