Motor Codes backs industry awards for garages

Motor Codes Ltd is particularly proud to sponsor the Motor Trader Garage of the Year Award this year, having launched the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair less than ten months ago with the full backing of the industry. More than 5,000 businesses have now subscribed and the number continues to grow.

As the organisation set up to administer this important initiative, Motor Codes Ltd is especially keen to highlight the good practices those in the sector know operate on a daily basis. But these are often overshadowed by the actions of a minority of bad businesses which tarnish the reputation of this vital industry.

Open to franchise and independent service and repair garages, this Motor Codes sponsored award will be looking for a company that has shown it has put in place measures to improve its business over the past year. Judges will look for evidence of outstanding business performance, customer care and marketing skills.

“We feel it is important for us to become involved in acknowledging who the better performers are and the Motor Trader Awards is an ideal way of doing just that,” said Chris Mason, director of Motor Codes Ltd. “Consumers will become used to associating the Motor Codes brand with businesses that are responsible, reliable, honest and committed to being accountable. We look forward to reviewing the entry forms from the many garages keen to win this prestigious award and I am certain the judges will have their work cut out when choosing just one winner from the shortlisted candidates.”

More codes of practice to come under the wings of this key industry body will be announced soon and Motor Codes Ltd is keen that motor traders use them to their advantage. Self regulation is sound business and this group of codes that have been developed by the sector, for the sector, will serve to enhance the image and commercial benefits of good practice for the whole industry.
