UKs largest independent tyre specialist commits to Motor Codes

Micheldever Tyre and Auto Services, the UK’s largest independent distributor and fitter of tyres, has signed-up its nationwide network to the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair.  The company, which sells about six million tyres a year has subscribed its 50 ‘Protyre’-branded outlets to the Code aiming to enhance the company’s profile and reach while reinforcing its high customer service standards.

“The decision to subscribe to the Service and Repair Code was taken after extensive research into both our customers’ requirements and the need for the whole industry to raise its standards,” said Simon Hiorns, retail director at Micheldever.  “We recognise that in many cases the motor industry needs to build trust with its customers, as over the years, this has been eroded by ‘cowboy traders’.  Protyre has built a reputation for providing exceptional service, something that Motor Codes allows us to promote to our customers.  We’re looking forward to making the most of this well recognised Code and to providing our customers with greater confidence that we will provide an outstanding service while giving them a route to recourse if things go wrong.”

Having carried out customer research, Micheldever decided to join the Code as motorists voiced their desire to have confidence in their choice of garage.  Joining the ever growing network of over 6,200 Motor Codes service and repair garages, the nationwide Protyre chain offers servicing and MOTs, plus ‘fast fit’ tyre changing, exhaust fitting and battery replacement.

“Motor Codes is delighted that Micheldever has subscribed to Motor Codes, particularly as it was identified a key priority for its customers,” said Chris Mason, Motor Codes director.  “Additionally, I know that the team at Micheldever put time and effort into researching the best way to demonstrate trust and reassurance to their customers and chose Motor Codes due to its substance and the high level of support and respect it commands in political, industrial and consumer circles.”

Businesses can subscribe to Motor Codes for just £75 a year by visiting http://www.motorcodes.co.uk/ or calling 020 7344 1651.  Subscribing garages receive an individual, editable profile page on the Code website, full support from the Code Advice Team, listing on the online Garage Finder tool and access to marketing and PR material.
