How to use The Motor Ombudsman logo on your website
As a business that is to committed to one or more of our Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI)-approved Codes of Practice, you have privileged use of the Motor Ombudsman and Approved Code logos.
It is a requirement of CTSI that Code-accredited garages are using the correct logos on their websites and they are currently carrying out regular audits of all businesses that are part of a Code, to check how many are displaying the Approved Code logo.
Introduction of the Smart Badge
To ensure consumers can always verify whether a business has an active accreditation to The Motor Ombudsman, we’ve developed a new Smart Badge for websites. This is a very important tool, as there have been instances where businesses have falsely claimed to be part of a Motor Ombudsman Code of Practice.
By featuring the Smart Badge on your website, customers will be able to clearly identify that your business is accredited to The Motor Ombudsman. The image allows consumers to click on the Smart Badge logo to verify that your accreditation is active, and they can equally visit your profile page on the Garage Finder.
How to install the Smart Badge
Installing the Smart Badge is relatively simple and involves placing some specific code into the HTML code of your website. If you still have the coding for the previous Yoshki version (which has now been withdrawn by CTSI) embedded within your website, you’ll need to remove that coding first.
To get access to the Smart Badge code, you will need to do the following:
- Find your garage profile on our Garage Finder
- Add in /widgets to the end of the website address eg: www.themotorombudsman.org/YOUR-BUSINESS-NAME/widgets
- You should see the unique coding for your business displayed*.
- Copy this Code and paste it into your website HTML
*If in Step 3 your Smart Badge does not show correctly, this is likely to be because your website address is not stored in our database. Please login to the Business Portal and update your details, or send an email to update@tmo-uk.org with your business name and your website address, and we can amend our records accordingly.
Survey score widgets
On the webpage where you can access your Smart Bage: www.themotorombudsman.org/YOUR-
BUSINESS-NAME/widgets
You can also access and install the coding for a variety of widgets showing your customer survey feedback scores. This means you can share your positive reviews giving your customers added reassurance they are dealing with a credible business they can rely on.
