The Motor Ombudsman’s popular online Knowledge Base posts 134,190 views during the second quarter of 2023
The Motor Ombudsman’s online Knowledge Base, the reference tool designed to provide consumers with responses to some of the most common queries on car ownership, vehicle maintenance and dispute resolution, has seen nearly 135,000 views during the second quarter of this year. There are currently 11 different categories on the Knowledge Base hosting a total of 212 Q&A-style articles, which provide responses to commonly-asked queries on subjects spanning distance sales to electric vehicles.
The article about whether a car can be returned within 14 days of buying it from the New and Used Car Sales category (over 12,300 views) climbed back to first place in the ten most popular Knowledge Base articles viewed between April and June, which was followed by “What is the Consumer Rights Act, and how does it affect my vehicle purchase?”, which recorded in excess of 10,600 views. The Q&A about what action can be taken if a consumer has been sold a faulty car, also from the New and Used Car Sales section, retained its status from the first quarter as the third most popular read, with around 9,500 views.
The new entry for 2023 in quarter two was the Q&A about whether a consumer is able to get a refund of a deposit placed on a new or vehicle (around 7,000 views) and the terms often associated with this, and was classified in fourth place. The most frequented Service and Repair Q&A on what a vehicle owner is able to do if a garage was deemed to be taking too long when carrying out work (close to 6,500 views), rounded off the top five for the past three months.
Furthermore, another new entry for 2023, coming in at eighth place with around 4,500 views, was on the subject of what an individual is able to do if they have a problem with their used car, after this specific article was added to the Knowledge Base in February of this year. The final place in the top 10 classification for the most read article during the second quarter of this year discusses whether a finance agreement will be cancelled if a vehicle bought “at a distance” is returned within the first 14 days of ownership (nearly 2,700 views).
